Chase selected as a Dimon Distinguished Community Award School Chase Elementary recently was recognized by the Federation for Community Schools as a "Dimon Distinguished Community School" for 2009. The award distinguishes Chase's partnership as a community school working together in innovative and comprehensive ways to address the needs of students, their families and the community. Chase Elementary is being recognized for its ability to improve the academic success of students, support the healthy minds and bodies of its students and their families, act as the hub of community activity and support strong families. The school will receive award money through its lead partner agency to be used in accordance with a previously submitted proposal. Congratulations!

Chase Elementary has been selected to participate in the AVID program. AVID is a fourth- through twelfth-grade system to prepare students in the academic middle for four-year college eligibility. It has a proven track record in bringing out the best in students, and in closing the achievement gap. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination.
